December 16, 2010 — Middlebury, CT. — Positive Energy Electricity Supply, LLC of Middlebury showed its support recently to the Family Services of Greater Waterbury with a charitable donation to the Waterbury-based organization. Pictured above is Sandy Porteus (left), executive director of Family Services of Greater Waterbury, and Development Coordinator, Holly Leone (right), the organization’s development coordinator. They are joined by John Bernier of Positive Energy Electricity Supply on for the presentation of a $2,000 donation.

“Having grown up on welfare until my teens, living in some of the most difficult sections of Waterbury, I now realize what a much-needed service Family Services provides to individuals. With the current state of the economy and the recent decrease of funding to Family Services, it is important as ever to contribute to organizations such as this,” said Joseph Ventura, President of Positive Energy Electricity Supply, LLC. “Family Services recently celebrated its 100-Year Anniversary and we hope that donations such as ours will help them continue to provide these important services to our community.”

Ms. Porteus said, “We are grateful for this generous donation from Positive Energy. Local companies investing in the community is the kind of support that has kept Family Services around for more than 100 years.”

Established in 1909, Family Services of Greater Waterbury, Inc. is a private, not-for profit 501 (c) 3, multi-service agency offering a range of social services involving behavioral health, employment support, and children's programs.
