Middlebury, CT. — October 26, 2010 — Positive Energy Electricity Supply, LLC of Middlebury last week showed its support to the Pet Animal Welfare Society (P.A.W.S.) with a charitable donation toi the Norwalk-based animal shelter.  State Senator Bob Duff (Assistant Majority Leader, D-Norwalk) joined Joseph Gonzalez of Positive Energy Electricity Supply on October 21, 2010 for the presentation of an $1,100 donation to P.A.W.S. Shelter Director Adrianne Statfeld (pictured above).

“In this economy, donations to animal shelters are down. Considering we are about to enter the coldest months of the year, we felt it was important and would be timely to help P.A.W.S. as much as we can,” said Joseph Ventura, President of Positive Energy Electricity Supply, LLC “Although it is a small donation, we wanted to help our furry little friends in any way we could.”

Adrienne Statfield said, “The staff and volunteers at P.A.W.S. wish to extend our most heartfelt gratitude to the folks at Positive Energy for this incredibly generous gift.  We are touched to know that in these difficult economic times, Positive Energy extends their circle of compassion to include homeless animals in our community.   Positive Energy’s charitable gift will go a long way in enacting positive change in the lives of some of the animals at our shelter. P.A.W.S. is honored to have been chosen.”

Senator Duff stated that he was “really happy that Positive Energy has taken on P.A.W.S. and made a substantial donation that will go towards an excellent cause. As a P.A.W.S. adoptee myself, I know first-hand what a great organization P.A.W.S. is and the contribution they make to this community.”

P.A.W.S. is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in continuous operation since 1962 by Westport, Connecticut resident Betty Long to rescue homeless dogs and place them in permanent homes. In the early 1980s, our rescue efforts were expanded to include cats. PAWS rescues & rehomes approximately 115 dogs and 435 cats annually. Many of the dogs faced euthanasia at local pounds and most of the cats that we help are strays and abandoned cats that roam our streets. A portion of the pets that come to PAWS have been relinquished by their owners who are no longer able to care for them.
