Positive Energy Electricity Supply Adding 100 New Jobs To Workforce

Middlebury, CT. — February 16, 2011 — Positive Energy Electric Supply, LLC, an electric aggregator celebrating its 2nd anniversary this month, announced today that it will soon be hiring nearly 100 new workers, dramatically expanding the company's workforce from 30 to nearly 130 employees. These hiring's will make Positive Energy one of the largest employers in the town of Middlebury.
"This is great news for our company, great news for our customers, and we think it will also be great news for the area and Connecticut's economy. We are fortunate to be expanding our workforce and helping the many people who have been having a hard time finding employment in this economy," Positive Energy President Joe Ventura said. "This expansion of our business speaks to the success we have had over the last two years of helping our customers achieve substantial savings on their electric bills. Furthermore, it will assist us with our expansion of service in 3 additional States"
A Connecticut based company founded in February 2009, Positive Energy is a provider of discount electricity and helps residents and businesses save up to 15% on the generation portion of their monthly electric bill, and is registered with the Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control. It is one of the fastest growing companies in Connecticut and is an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau serving over 65,000 customers in Connecticut.
All of the 100 new hires will be employed as telemarketers and customer service representatives at Positive Energy's brand new 4,000 square-foot call center located at its now-expanded location at 765 Straits Turnpike in Middlebury, Mr. Ventura said.
Mr. Ventura said the company has partnered with the state and many other organizations to fill these jobs, working with the Department of Labor's CTWorks Center in Waterbury, Ability Beyond Disability and veteran's organizations as well as local universities.
"We are glad to be doing our part, and we hope this is only the beginning and many more jobs will follow," Mr. Ventura said. "We want to be able to give our customers the best prices and rates available, and reach out into other states to bring new customers onboard. These new jobs will help us to do just that."
State Representative Tony D'Amelio (R-71st District), whose district includes Middlebury, today said he was encouraged to learn of a planned expansion of Positive Energy Electric Supply's Middlebury workforce.
"The expansion of Positive Energy Electric Supply's Middlebury-based business is great news for both Greater Waterbury and the state," Rep. D'Amelio said. "With the difficult economy we've been experiencing in recent years, the addition of nearly 100 new jobs in Middlebury is very welcome and will be a boon for more than just the new employees. Every new job created in Connecticut brings business to other local employers and that benefits everyone."
